Castle theater at Kobersdorf

Located at the foot of the Pauliberg, Austria's youngest volcano, the renaissance castle in Kobersdorf is situated in the middle of Landseer Berge Nature Park. 

Today, the exterior is characterized by striking round towers with mighty conical roofs, inside, the atmospheric arcade courtyard is the ideal setting for the Schloss-Spiele that have been taking place here since 1972.

The actor Wolfgang Böck is the heart and soul of the festival and has been the artistic director since 2003. He has breathed new life into the festival and made it the theater hotspot of Burgenland. The actor delights audiences not only with his roles, but also with his productions. The charismatic actor always manages to surprise his audience, with shows like “Der Zerrissene” by Johann Nepomuk Nestroy or Shakespeare’s “As You Like It”.

When it comes to Burgenland theater, Kobersdorf is a real insider tip. Year after year, countless visitors are lured to the central Burgenland town by fantastic productions with a great sense of humor. The director personally invites antique car drivers and motorcyclists on a trip each year, followed by a visit to the Schloss-Spiele.
