ZANTHO is one of the most renowned enterprises in Austria, known for its fine wines from Burgenland. The wines are produced in collaboration between top winemaker Josef Umathum and Wolfgang Peck in Andau. The operation can be described as a perfect symbiosis of long-standing experience, top technical equipment, and optimal natural conditions. On 50 hectares of vineyard, a fine selection of fruit-driven red, white, and sweet wines from local varieties is produced – Zweigelt, Sankt Laurent, and Blaufränkisch are considered local classics alongside Grüner Veltliner. All wines from the estate feature the unique Vino-Lok glass closure and are regularly awarded for their high quality.
Zantho, the name of the small Burgenland town of Andau, first mentioned in a document in 1487, also designates the wine line, with the Pannonian wall lizard serving as a memorable symbol. The region, with its unique climate influenced by Lake Neusiedl and its iron-rich gravel soils, is one of Austria's outstanding wine regions. More info at www.zantho.com.
