In the heart of Halbturn, already the third generation is working with great love and feeling for nature and its biodiversity. The Unger winery, a Streckhof with a vaulted cellar, new tasting room and modern press house, is surrounded by lovingly tended vineyards and fields.
The location Kaiserberg is something very special for Josef and Maria Unger - on the one hand it is the age of the vines, the strong soil, the slight southern slope, the long tradition and the wonderful view into the Pannonian Plain - on the other hand it is the possibility to produce a unique site wine. This is how our Kaiserberg was created - a Zweigelt of over 35-year-old vines, hand-picked with an international style. Besides the main variety Zweigelt, there are also Blaufränkisch and Merlot vines in our vineyards.
Optimal conditions for light, fresh, fruity white wines such as Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc & Chardonnay can be found in the Lehendorf vineyard.
