Our winery is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Burgenland.
The climate of the Pannonian region has a major influence on the growth of the vines in Mörbisch. Hot, dry summers (most of Austria's sunny days are counted in the region) and cold, rainy winters make for a special wine climate. In addition, Lake Neusiedl creates an excellent microclimate for viticulture: it stores the heat of the sun during the day and releases this heat again at night. The vines therefore have a vegetation advantage compared to other wine-growing regions very early on. A gentle wind from the Hungarian lowlands provides a pleasant living space for grapevines and people.
Our white wines are fermented in steel barrels and bottled after the necessary maturity. The red wines mature in wooden barrels in our vaulted cellar. Our mild climate and the long growing season allow the vine to absorb the minerals contained in the soil. These give our wines their fruity and rich character.
Our vineyards extend in larger terraces along the Rust hill country to the reed belt of the Neusiedlersee. The influence of the Pannonian climate is unmistakable. Most of the sunny days in Austria are counted in the region. In addition, Lake Neusiedl creates an excellent microclimate for viticulture: it stores the heat of the sun during the day and releases this heat again at night.
We would like to invite you to a tasting of the wines and schnapps in our tasting room.
