With 90 % white wine, the Liegenfeld winery from Donnerskirchen is one of the most important white wine estates in Burgenland. The palette here ranges from fine Burgundy to Welschriesling to four different Grüner Veltliners, a variety that is usually associated with Lower Austria. The special microclimate and especially the soils are predestined for it. The top location of "Himmelreich" is the main source of Veltliner, which is also highly regarded internationally. In production, origin, innovation and sustainability are particularly important to the Liegenfeld family. Whether in the vineyard or in the cellar, Andi and Gerda Liegenfeld, who are supported by their son Michael, constantly drive their curiosity for limits, improvement and perfection. To keep it that way, no more should be taken than nature gives us. This is what the Liegenfelds understand as sustainable, and the company is one of the first in Austria to be certified in this context.
