For a long time the family business was run as a mixed agricultural enterprise with arable farming and viticulture, before we finally specialized in viticulture in the 90s. During this time we planted new grape varieties, but also continued to cultivate old vineyards. This is the reason why we have a very wide range of grape varieties at our disposal, which is rather unusual nowadays. We cultivate a total area of 6.5 hectares of vineyards in and around Großhöflein, at the foot of the Leithagebirge - small but nice. Our assortment ranges from light to powerful white wines to full-bodied red wines and noble sweet predicates.

Craft
The manageable size of our winery allows us to spend many hours in the vineyards ourselves, from pruning in winter to harvesting in late summer, and to convince ourselves of the quality of our grapes at every opportunity. In this way we can really live and practice our craft. And that makes us happy. Because we like to be out in the fresh air in the vineyard, enjoy the peace and quiet in the cellar, or are happy to have nice conversations during wine presentations. With us, everything happens with a certain calm. Without much stress. But with a lot of joy in our work.

Vineyard
Working with nature and with the vines. As much as necessary, as little as possible. Year after year, we try to implement these points as well as possible and to expand our knowledge of soil and vineyard management by attending various training events. We do not use herbicides, botryticides and insecticides in the vineyard.

Grape harvest
The harvest of our grapes is done by hand - without machines. This process takes a lot of time, but in our opinion it is the most gentle. The grapes are transported to our winery in picking boxes so that they can be processed. Fermentation takes place - depending on the variety and desired wine type - either in tanks, barrels or vats. White wines mature in steel tanks or wooden barrels, often also on the fine lees. Red wines develop their potential in large or small wooden barrels.

That is us
We - that is senior boss Hermann and daughter Anna - combine tradition and many years of experience with new knowledge and fresh ideas. In doing so, we are constantly setting ourselves new goals and making high demands in order to continue producing high-quality wines. We are supported by Hermann's wife Waltraud and Anna's partner in Wine - Michael. Two generations. With joy at work. Because only together we are strong. Please feel free to visit us at the winery.

Anna makes wine
In 2014 I started my own small wine line. Here I have the opportunity to let off steam in the vineyard as well as the cellar. I always enjoy trying new things and learning through my self-made experiences. In the cellar I give my wines the time they need to develop in the best possible way. My wines mature either in wooden barrels or in tanks and are mostly fermented spontaneously. The feedback from convinced customers and great ratings at wine awards show me that I am on the right track and motivate me to continue on my path.

The family is looking forward to your visit!
