As far as we have been able to follow, our family has been farming since 1725, and for at least 4 generations wine has also been cultivated: Thomas - who has been with the winery since graduating from the Krems viticulture school in 1996 - took over the business in 2011 from Gerda and Matthias - who are still actively involved. The reversal of the role of Matthias and Thomas as managers has been carried out in these years sometimes slowly, sometimes jerkily ... In 2006 the important decision was made to switch to organic farming; since 2009 - after a 3-year conversion period - the winery is certified organic and Claudia is fully involved. Our main focus is on the local varieties: Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch in the red wine sector (55% of the total area), Pinot Blanc and Welschriesling in the white wine sector (45%). It gets really sweet in the appropriate years - red or white, Ausbruch or TBA ... depending on the year.
