Halbturn Castle, one of the most important baroque castles in Burgenland, once served the imperial family as a hunting and summer residence and today houses our winery in the former stables of the imperial Lipizzaner horses. Weingut Schloss Halbturn lies in the heart of the impressive natural landscapes of the Pannonian Plain and the entire region is characterized by Lake Neusiedl surrounded by gentle hills. The two vineyards (Ried Wittmannshof and Ried Jungenberg) are true jewels of this sun-drenched landscape. The restructuring at the beginning of the 2000s laid the foundations for something big at Schloss Halbturn. Inspired by the French premium wineries of Burgundy and Bordeaux, no expense or effort was spared to lead Weingut Schloss Halbturn into a new era. Wines in two quality levels mature in the Bordeaux-style cellar. Under the SCHLOSS HALBTURN brand, sophisticated first wines with a comprehensive depth of vintage (up to 10 vintages) are offered. The potential of these sophisticated wines only unfolds over time and the wines are therefore launched on the market five years after the harvest at the earliest. Matured in barriques, these wines promise balance and longevity. The second wines of the KOENIGSEGG brand are characterized by a Burgenland varietal type with that certain something.
