Since 2001 the winery has a new building in the middle of the vineyards at Altenberg. With this Gerhard and Brigitte Pittnauer fulfilled a dream: sufficient space and the adequate technical equipment for the production of their high quality products.
The pursuit of quality has brought the Pittnauers a constantly growing fan base for their wines in recent years as well as national and international awards. Especially for Pinot Noir and St.Laurent - for winegrowers two difficult varieties - Gerhard Pittnauer has a very sensitive hand and produces wines every year that are considered to be the best in Austria.
Since 1998 Pittnauer has been a member of the Pannobile-Winzer Association (www.pannobile.at). Its red Pannobile Cuvée becomes from the three autochthonous varieties, whereby the Zweigelt dominates this harmonious and storable cuvée.
The vineyards are located in Heideboden, on the edge of the Parndorfer Platte and, of course, on the southern slopes between
"Platte and Ebene". 18 ha of vineyard area are currently cultivated by the company itself, with the red wine content amounting to 90%. 6 ha were newly planted in the last three years - the majority with St. Laurent vines. The vineyards are Altenberg (as most important location), Ungerberg, Baumgarten, Salzberg and Rosenberg. The soils are predominantly sandy loamy soils, the partly turn into gravel soils.
