Dr. Hans Bichler, a passionate winemaker, cultivates 3.6 hectares of vineyards on the south-eastern slopes of the Leithagebirge, where Burgundy varieties in particular find ideal conditions.
Mica slate and lime give Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, but also the Burgenland variety Blaufränkisch a very special mineral note.
Characteristics of the "Bichler quality brand" are, in addition to the gentle processing of the grapes, a fully ripe harvest, exact foliage work and yield limitation.
The delicious taste and aromatic character of the wine is mainly determined by the grape variety; Chardonnay and Pinot Gris for a fresh white wine, Blaufränkisch and Burgundy for a full-bodied red wine. The Bichler winery produces over 7000 bottles a year, 30% white and 70% red.
