In the midst of the Rechnitz wine mountains, on the Ried Györy, also called the heart of the vineyard, lies the Kanitz winery.
The sunny south slope invites you to enjoy a glass of wine and a homemade Heurigen snack. Enjoy the view over the vast landscape and the tranquility of nature.
The agricultural family business is run by Adele Kanitz, daughter Kathrin, and son Fred in the fourth generation.
Starting from the dairy farming of grandparents Hans and Anna Kanitz, the foundation of the wine tavern was laid in 1990, beginning with the construction of the vault, today’s red wine cellar. In September 1992, we welcomed our first guests in our home.
Today, we cultivate 2.5 hectares of vineyard and 20 hectares of arable land and have a pigsty. From the beginning, we have focused on the own production of meat and wine. The care of the vines and the harvesting of the grapes is done exclusively by hand. We place great importance on sustainable farming.
Our pigs are kept in small groups in spacious stalls filled with plenty of straw. We check on their well-being every day; the loving handling and care of our animals are our top priority.
Everything comes from one source, from the feed production from our agriculture, through the breeding and raising of our animals, to the refinement of our meat in the best quality.
