Enclosed by a medieval defensive wall, this Catholic parish church stands on a hill quite at the beginning of the village. After a fire in 1683 during the Turkish war, the fortified church was rebuilt using Gothic masonry with the founder Zacharias Gundian (1691). In 1733 the church was again destroyed by fire, but not completely, so it could be restored again.
The squat nave with buttresses shows under the eaves partly walled keyhole embrasures of a Gothic battlements. The tower carries a stone pyramid helmet between the gable and the corner turret and shows a bird in the wrought-iron cross.
