Our goal is to highlight from the large, uniform wine world the wines from the large site Heideboden in their typicality.
Our winery is located in Tadten, in the middle of the Heideboden vineyard. This small area east of Lake Neusiedl is characterized by the Pannonian climate and allows us winemakers to press grapes that are highly ripe and, especially in the red wines, are carried by a softness and harmony that come very close to my understanding of wine.
We are a family business and cultivate 35 hectares of vineyards. Red wine accounts for 75% of the vineyard area, white wine for 25%. The St.Michael vineyard with its subriedens (Kreuzjoch, Oberzick, Unterjoch, Richterhöhe) is located in the middle of the Großlage Heideboden, the soils are mostly gravel or sandy soils with low support, but heavy black earth soils with medium to high clay content are also represented.
The white wines are almost entirely vinified in stainless steel, where they can lie on the fine lees for up to three months. The red wines are aged in the 400 barrique barrels in the red wine cellar, and part of the Heideboden is also aged in large wooden barrels.
We use only French barriques and believe that the wines become more harmonious, structured or stable and can also be stored longer.
