The Karnerhof winery is located in the free town of Rust, on the west bank of Lake Neusiedl. The proximity of the lake and the slopes sloping to the southeast result in a mild and balanced microclimate. The vineyards located here are among the best in Europe. On an area of 8 hectares (80,000 m2), quality-oriented cultivation is carried out by planting out the variety and careful grape harvest, in autumn our quality wines, dry Kabinett wines, Spätlese and the famous "Ruster Ausbruch" are harvested. Of the 8 hectares, 50% are white wines, with the varieties Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc, Furmint (with this grape variety, quality outbreak, Rust bought the free city rights in 1681) and Nutmeg Ottonel. 50% red wines such as Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Blauburger, Merlot, Cabernet franc and Shiraz.
