The "Giefing" family vineyard is located in the middle of the historic town centre of Rust. The foundation stone of the Giefing Winery was laid in a 500-year-old wine-grower's house. The "Freihof" dates back to the 15th century and is also a world cultural heritage site. Due to its top quality, the extremely dynamic winery has quickly become one of Austria's top red wine estates in recent years. The vineyards are outstanding, excellent, particularly loose soils, most of which have been subjected to limestone and Rust gravel. The grapes are smaller, the skin thicker, the extract of colour and taste therefore higher. Especially storable and expressive reserve wines, grown on sites that are partly over 60 years old, underline the range of products. The top line is only produced in particularly good years. Here an individual style full of character is created away from any mainstream. The Giefing's offer an idea, a conception and the taste of their region.
