Our wine farm is located in the middle of Southern Burgenland, close to the Hungarian border, 2 kilometres from the Eisenberg, in the small sleepy wine village Deutsch-Schützen. The way to our family farm with adjoining wine cellar and tasting room leads along the picturesque vineyards or through the village, close to St. Martin's Church, at the foot of the Ratschen site. This area is a gem for all those who want to break away from the stressful daily routine to focus on their senses.
Enjoyment comes to the fore and makes wine tasting a taste experience. The Weinhof offers the opportunity to be close to work as well as to welcome wine lovers on site. Hospitality is very close to our hearts and for us it is an enrichment to get to know our wine customers and to be able to tastefully offer them our wines in a relaxed setting.
Our family has been involved in winegrowing for 4 generations. This is the home of a time-honoured wine tradition. Just as deeply rooted and unique as the centaur on our label, our family has been running an agricultural business with viticulture around Deutsch-Schützen for generations. The agricultural business with viticulture became a winery with high quality standards. Alfred and Helga, the original members of the family, have raised the wine to a quality level and cultivate around 3 hectares out of love for their work. Calmness, attentiveness, tranquillity, but constant consistency and perseverance in action are valuable building blocks to give the vines room to develop. The daughters Isabella and Martina are returning to their roots and are in the process of learning viticulture and taking it over in the long term.
The interplay between young and old creates a healthy tension and brings liveliness to the joint work.
Tradition and constancy are mixed with future-oriented thinking and the joy of experimentation.
Fundamental values that transcend generations and shape our joint actions as a family are: Down-to-earthness, closeness to nature and hospitality.
