The Edelmeier winery was founded at the end of the 19th century. Today, Georg Edelmeier is the fourth generation to run it. What drives the Edelmeier family is the responsibility for the soil entrusted to them and the well-being of the vines rooted in it. In addition to his 5-year training at the HBLA Klosterneuburg and practical experience in Germany and Australia, Georg's intuition is still his best guide. When it comes to producing with personal commitment, he is 100% involved. Whether at 3 o'clock in the morning or in 40° heat, Georg and his loved ones are dedicated and yet sometimes exhausted at work. They have never lost faith in the magic that goes on in their barrels and keep time for tasting, smelling and marvelling. Georg is a militant greener, which is why he has always decided against the use of herbicides and takes care to keep the soil between the vines covered by accompanying flora for as long as possible. In the vineyards, which cover a total of 10 hectares, there is therefore extensive greenery in all the tramlines almost all year round. However, apart from all the insects and organisms ‘in the vines’, it is probably still Georg who is most happy about the beauty of nature, a strong young vine or healthy grapes and draws strength from them for his hard work.
