The sunset at the Darscho is still an experience in itself. The lake lies about two kilometres north of Apetlon, directly next to the freight road to Frauenkirchen on the Lackenradweg B20. With its size of approx. 1000 by 500 metres it is clearly laid out and is often used as an ice-skating rink in winter. In spring, summer and autumn it serves as a breeding and resting place for the birds. This place has long been known as a tip among ornithologists who observe the enchanting bird world with binoculars. The mud of these varnishes is even said to have a healing effect. Due to its special composition it has a healing effect when applied to the skin.
