Wachter vine

WachterWein is a family business with about 7 hectares of vineyards, focusing on the variety Blaufränkisch, which thrives particularly rich on the mineral clay soils of southern Burgenland. Winemaker David Wachter's goal is to make the best use of the existing resources through precise and gentle work in the vineyard, thereby producing wine of outstanding quality. The flagship wine is named "Donum" (= gift/godsend) and is meant to remind winemakers and wine lovers to gratefully accept the grape as a gift of nature while also pointing to the responsibility that comes from the gift of creation.

The flagship wine is named "DONUM," which translates to gift-God's offering, the grape as a gift from nature.

A challenge and motivation is to be able to participate in the cycle of creation, to have a grounded wine in the cellar.
