For almost 650 years, viticulture has been practiced on the Csaterberg on an area of 48 hectares. The soil conditions favor varieties such as Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Riesling- Sylvaner, Rhine Riesling and the red Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt.
The vinotheque in the Gasthof zum Weinberg is the flagship and centre of all wine-related activities and is open all year round during inn operations.
For most of the winegrowers, winegrowing is a sideline. Nevertheless, being embedded in the wine idyll that is the wine-growing region of southern Burgenland has changed the requirements. Continuous training and marketing of quality wines lead many winegrowers back to the origin and winegrowing develops perspectives beyond the favorite hobby.
