In the area of the flood protection area between Stooberbach and B50 the tree nature trail was created in the years 2011 to 2013. The Neutal tree nature trail is intended to reflect the variety of nature. Extensive research by the project team (environmental councillor Harald Rathmanner, Josef Kern, Franz Heidenhofer, Mag. Manfred Fiala from the Nature Conservation Union) placed the main focus on fruit trees and here especially on old, hardy and regional varieties. Furthermore, the varieties were chosen in such a way that the harvesting time of the trees would extend from July to the end of October, so that ripe fruit would be available throughout the summer and autumn. In addition to the fruit trees, native deciduous tree species were also planted. The students of the eco- elementary school with Mrs. Director Landauer created the display boards of the deciduous trees and thus actively worked on the tree trail - project. Table-bench-combinations and benches invite to stay. With the nature trail, however, old landmarks typical for Neutal are to be re-occb upied. Thus a black alder was planted opposite the alder path. Also the landmark "by the nut trees" was given new life by planting two nut trees. The tables are intended to provide an overview of the diversity of varieties.
