Purbach's landmark rises above the chimney of a small house, which can be seen from the main road towards Breitenbrunn (Türkenstr. 9).
According to tradition a Turk slept out his intoxication when his troops had already left Purbach (1532). Because of fear of the Purbachers he fled into the chimney, where he was discovered and fumigated.
He accepted the Christian faith and was given to the owner of the house as a servant. After his death the farmer erected the stone bust on the chimney.
