Bootmaker Museum

A true rarity is the Bootmaker's Museum located at the municipal office – or, as it should correctly be called in Hungarian, "Csizmenmachermuseum." It is the only museum of its kind in Austria and highlights the fact that the guild of bootmakers in Rechnitz had a significant history until World War II. Today, this profession has sadly almost become extinct.
A complete bootmaker's workshop with interesting tools and machines, as well as a market stand, a market chest, guild chests, etc., can be visited under the expert guidance of master shoemaker Julius Koch.
