A Buschenschank is called Schenkhaus or Schangl by insiders in Mittelburgenland. The SCHENK'HAUS Strehn in Deutschkreutz is a guarantor for culinary surprises: In addition to snails from the vineyard, gazpacho and delicacies from sheep, goose maki have also been on the plate.

The ideas for the extraordinary Schenk'haus menu come from the passion for eating and drinking well ourselves. The Strehn family takes many ideas with them on their travels and excursions. Seasonal items are combined with the right wines and the result is a unique menu - usually with a lot of fun and laughter. Personal appointments with snail farmers or the baker included!

Just as at the winery, the roles at Schenk'haus are clearly defined: Andy is the "head chef." After all, the SCHENK'HAUS was his idea. Pia is the sous-chef and Patrick has the service firmly under control.

An heirloom is the SCHENK'HAUS itself - the building has special significance for the family. It is the grandfather's former cowshed and later wine cellar. They have rebuilt this in a contemporary and reduced way using only natural materials. The roof truss is 500 years old and comes from the former ballroom of Deutschkreutz Castle.

The claim is uncompromising quality, aesthetics, personal service and a lot of passion. Pia, Andy and Patrick have fulfilled a dream with the SCHENK'HAUS and created a place of pleasure out of a hobby, which they want to share with others. This gives double pleasure.
