About 3 km outside of Leithaprodersdorf lies the actual landmark of the village. It is the tower of a Romanesque church, which remained undestroyed in 1683 as the only part of the former mountain church. The church was dedicated to St. Stephen the Martyr. In the 19th century, the pyramidal helmet was placed on the tower. Because of its shape the church ruins received the name "Pfefferbüchsel". The present cemetery is still located around the former church. Gothic fresco remains were found in the tower chapel in 1975.
