Tschardaken - the traditional corn stores
The wooden corn Tschardaken are typical for Halbturn and still shape the townscape like in no other place of the Seewinkel region. Although they are not often used for their original purpose as corn stores anymore, they still contribute to the charming village character of the locality.
Starting from the town hall and the police station in Halbturn, one can find the famous Tschardaken Street.
In Tschardaken Street, one can find many examples, some of which have been lovingly restored, forming a nostalgic backdrop for the annual "Tschardaken Festival" held in late summer.
As a symbol of the great importance of agriculture for the local population of Halbturn, both in the past and still today, a stylized Tschardake can be found in the town's logo.
