HAFNER Pioneers of Winegrowing
Our winery is located in Mönchhof, Burgenland, the oldest winegrowing municipality in Austria (founded in the year 1217). Our family has lived and worked here since time immemorial and has significantly shaped Austrian wine culture throughout history. Thus, we were able to produce Austria's first ice wine in 1971 and have been the only producer of kosher wines since 1980.
As a registered organic operation, we were also the world's first producer of organically produced kosher wines, which we manufacture in uniquely high quality and export to over 40 countries around the globe. Our production range includes all categories of wines.
With over 20 grape varieties, we create fine white and red wines in a classic style as well as reserves (in barrique) and also offer all kinds of sweet wine specialties. From fruity late harvest wines to noble berry and dried berry selections, up to rarities like ice wine and straw wine, all of which have been awarded many international accolades and have even achieved world championship titles! Our product range is complemented by delicious, all-natural grape juices; brandy, grape and fruit brandies, as well as sparkling wine and frizzante.
