The border experience trail is a hiking path for young and old. The experience-oriented stations reflect historical, cultural, and landscape characteristics.
The starting point is the village square of Bildein with its excellent tourist infrastructure (inn, wine archive, shop, toilet).
Over a number of impressive stations (maze, bunker from World War II, trench, border bridge, border watchtower, game without borders, floating bridge…) you will hike to the Austrian-Hungarian border, cross the Pinka there, and stroll back along the opposite riverbank.
All stations are designed to be interesting and engaging for both children and adults. They are also intended to encourage cross-generational conversations.
You will walk through a varied landscape, with plenty of rest areas, as well as smaller individual stations featuring picture-text panels.
