The Peace Castle Schlaining was mentioned for the first time in 1271 as "castrum Zloynuk" and was at that time in the possession of the Güssing Counts. Only gradually did the name change before it was officially known under its present name in 1786. In the 15th century, the castle came into the possession of the knight Andreas Baumkircher.

Experience the diverse history of the Peace Castle Schlaining under the guiding principle "From the Fortress to the Peace Castle." In the picturesque setting of the castle, visitors embark on a journey through six captivating and interactive exhibitions - from the times of the medieval fortress to the center of peace.

The Schlaining Castle is not only a place of history but also a vibrant center for education and cultural exchange. The numerous exhibitions and events that take place here make it an important meeting point for people from all over the world who are interested in history, peace, and intercultural learning.
