In the heart of Burgenland, in the middle of Blaufränkischland.

The history of Eichenwald Weine began in 1962 with the founding of the Horitschon and surrounding area winegrowers' cooperative.

Today, the imposing and modern winery of Eichenwald Weine rises gracefully in the middle of the Riede Gfanger in Horitschon in Central Burgenland. The unique building is visible from afar and yet perfectly integrated into the landscape thanks to its sandstone facade. The winery is home to up to 1000 oak barrels, inspiration for gourmets and one of the most extraordinary event locations in Burgenland.

90% of the wine assortment are red wines, first and foremost the variety Blaufränkisch. - After all, we are located here in the heart of Blaufränkischland. Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot complete the range. The white wines are also diverse, with Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay and Gelber Muskateller making up 10% of the Eichenwald Weine range.

Wines for life. Behind the wine names are hidden old legends and myths, such as those of the *grape thief, the *Gugafanga or the *stability. The vinification of the wines is carried out in three different lines. The classic line, mainly vinified in steel tanks, the premium line, which matures in large wooden barrels (2500 L), and the reserve line, whose wines are allowed to develop quietly in 225 L barrique barrels. The wines combine above all a lot of fruit, strength and varietal typicity. We would like to bring the "Mittelburgenland DNA" into the glass of the wine connoisseurs with our wines: multilayered wines with origin, depth, elegance and structure.

The team under the leadership of Johannes Forauer (Managing Chairman) and Johannes Berger (Head of Sales & Marketing) stands for the continuous development of the wines and the offer at the winery for guests and at events, as well as for a cooperative partnership with the approximately 60 grape suppliers and with all partners.
