The Leitha River is perfect for kayak and canoe tours from Wimpassing, for everyone, even without previous experience. Through untouched, primeval forest-like floodplain forests, in the midst of a fascinating animal world, the tour goes from the canoe station Wimpassing to Leithaprodersdorf.
On this largely unregulated stretch, the Leitha opens up as a true natural gem for adventurers and romantics alike. Along the waterway between Wimpassing and Leithaprodersdorf, canoeists will encounter fast-flowing stretches as well as shallow fords and many gravel and sand banks that invite you to swim and rest. In one of the most pristine river landscapes in Austria, you can get away from it all with beavers, great bustards, herons and the like.
The canoe tour on the Leitha includes the rental of canoes, including paddles, waterproof containers and life jackets, instruction on the water as well as guided tour (either 1.5 or 2.5 hours) and return transport. If you wish, we can also have a barbecue together over an open fire.
