Deep roots
On the slopes of the Leithagebirge, in the winegrowing village Kleinhöflein Burgenland, the Klampfer family lives and works with their farm. For several centuries (the first documented mention of the winegrowing family dates back to 1569) the family has been involved in winegrowing. The tradition and knowledge of many generations is combined with innovative ideas. For the Klampfer family, BIO means treating their environment with respect. This is why they have been organic since 1998. Nature is understood as a holistic cycle, it breathes and takes its course. They see it as their task to support Mother Nature, to work WITH her in order to capture a sip of her vitality in every single bottle. The wines primarily reflect the clayey and mineral soils, the warm Burgenland sun and the stormy weather. In total, they cultivate around five hectares of vineyards, the majority of which are indigenous grape varieties. A coexistence of plants, animals and humans is the core of the farm.
