Science confirms a major insect extinction and speaks of the sixth major extinction of species. The topic has now also reached the population. The bee is a synonym for the threat of insects, not least because bees play an important role in nature and are essential for human life.
The association "Bienenoasen St. Georgen" is dedicated to this topic. On a 1.4 hectare large property a bee nature trail was built, where the life and work of the bees and the functioning of a colony are shown on large boards. Then you can visit the hives and look into them. The aim is to make the visitors understand that every bee, ant, butterfly, has its place in nature. For this reason, the association wants to lease further areas in the medium term and transform "dead green fallow land" into living bee and insect meadows.
Guided tours (evening tour, family/group tour, private bee tour, honey and wine), children's birthday parties, company events/teambuilding are possible with advance reservation.
Please note that a visit to the bee oases is not a bad weather programme. Sturdy, closed shoes and a headgear are recommended.
