The largest and probably best known bathing and swimming lakes in the region is the Neufelder See.
The family-friendly bathing paradise with its lido is one of the most popular bathing lakes in Burgenland with many events (Businessrun, Seefest, Triathlon, Advent at Neufelder See, ...) and facilities. It also scores with its great location close to Vienna (approx. 50 km away).
The bathing lake has a very good water quality with water temperature up to 24 and 25 degrees Celsius in summer. It has a total length of about 1.8 kilometers and a total size of 2.16 square kilometers. The Neufelder See is the only bathing lake in Burgenland that is ideal for diving due to its depth (the lake is up to 35 meters deep) and clarity.
With its Caribbean-like underwater world, it is considered as one of THE diving sports eldorado in Austria. Diving enthusiasts are always fascinated.
The own diving school with diving store, the mobile home and camping site, the crystal clear water and the shady sunbathing areas - there are many reasons why the Neufelder See has become so popular amongst visitors and locals alike.
The leisure activities on offer at the lake are impressive: surfing, sailing, skating, boat rental, two playgrounds, a skater park, a streetball facility, a preheated children´s pool, a giant slide, ...there is certainly something for everyone.
