In the building of the old Hofmühle, there are two important museums for Güssing: The Emigration Museum documents the emigration of thousands of Burgenlanders, especially to the USA, at the beginning of the last century. The second part of the exhibition is dedicated to the Güssing dialect poet Josef Reichl.

The Güssing district was particularly affected by this emigration. More than 9,000 Burgenlanders emigrated from here to America.
The second part of the exhibition is dedicated to the Güssing dialect poet Josef Reichl. In his works, he described the fate of the borderland inhabitants. His love for his homeland, the Hianznland, inspired many poems and stories. A striking testament is the play "Landflucht," which depicts the living conditions in the villages that led many people to leave their country and seek a new home in America.
