For the 150th birthday of Arnold Schoenberg.
How touching Schoenberg's music can be can be felt at first hand at this concert - in his 2nd string quartet, where he adds the singing voice to the instruments, thus bringing a whole new dimension to the world of sound.
This is accompanied by Felix Mendelsohn-Bartholdy's last string quartet, which he composed after the unexpected death of his beloved sister Fanny under the impression of deep emotion.
