Dreamland Orchestra - JAZZ from Holland
The DREAMLAND ORCHESTRA consists of 5 talented professionals from the Dutch jazz scene, all multi-instrumentalists with decades of experience from various top bands.
Specialising in the jazz of the years 1921-1934, the orchestra is primarily oriented towards the ‘hot music’ of the smaller orchestras, such as the famous Halfway House Orchestra, the New Orleans Owls, as well as the bands around Clarence Williams, Duke Ellington, Fletcher Henderson, and New York groups with Red Nichols, Jimmy Dorsey and Adrian Rollini.
The unusual repertoire is presented in the atmosphere of the 20s and early 30s. As in those days, the music is played entirely acoustically, with only the announcements and vocals amplified. THE DREAMLAND ORCHESTRA continues to delight audiences in theatres and jazz clubs, at festivals and on radio and television.
