Birgit DENK "Des muss wohl Liebe sein"

08.11.2024

Birgit Denk and band present ‘Des muss wohl Liebe sein’
The story of Dorli and Joe - a love drama in 2 acts Not just a concert, not just a cabaret.

Birgit Denk and her colleagues present their first musical cabaret. Dorli, Birgit's best friend, falls in love with Joe. That's what people were called, or called themselves, in the eighties.

Based on the couple's ‘Gschicht’, we remember visits to discos, briefcases, house bars, wedding songs, caring mothers-in-law, couples' therapy, sex toys, tearful nights and successful break-ups. ´

An exemplary love story that is presented with songs and stories by Birgit Denk and fellow musicians and does not end like in a Hollywood film. Basically, it's always about love in life. And so is this joint concert evening.

Birgit Denk and her 4 colleagues dedicate an evening to love, musically and in short ‘Gschichtln’.

About Cupid and Eros, Dorli and Joe, marriage or wild marriage, intimate togetherness or holidays with the mother-in-law, eternal togetherness or successful separation.

Luckily for us all, there are songs from the extensive DENK universe that accompany the theme from beginning to end.

Birgit DENK is - as you know, hear and see - a jack-of-all-trades. A ‘Düsn’’, as they say. She promotes Austrian musicians as a judge and on the radio. As a busy singer in her band ‘DENK’, she is part of the colourful scene herself. After 7 highly successful seasons of ‘Denk mit Kultur’, DENK is also committed to entertainment on ORF III as a presenter, together with her gentlemen.

Birgit Denk and her fellow musicians know what they want. Making music in the language in which they think and dream, without stylistic boundaries. Always committed to their own taste.

The band is honest with itself, its music and its audience. Self-confidently off the beaten track, uprightly committed to their own standards, cordial, and musically and personally ‘zamm ghatzt’ as the Viennese say.

DENK experienced and developed together to become what they are today, a musically upright dialect band, a collective with a front woman, never ‘in’ but always there!
