The area under vines in Burgenland is 11,900 hectares. This corresponds to around a quarter of the entire Austrian wine-growing area. There are six DAC areas in Burgenland: Neusiedlersee, Leithaberg, Ruster Ausbruch, Rosalia, Mittelburgenland and Eisenberg. There are 3,000 winegrowers and wineries in the east of Austria. 57.7% of the wines produced here are red and rosé wines. 42.5% are white wines.
