The mill was built in the 18th century. Since 1968 it has been owned by the Sagmeister family. It has been lovingly rebuilt and automated again and again by Roland Sagmeister. Situated at the idyllic Tauchenbach, the so-called "Francis turbine" still drives the mill wheels. Thus, part of the required energy comes from the mill's own small hydroelectric power plant - the remaining energy is supplied from the public grid. A general overhaul of the turbine was carried out in 1986 and the mill was run exclusively as a grain mill until 1995.
